When we replace the seatbelt webbing and/or repair the belts, we do not alter any of the electronic components, sensors, or modules that interact with the vehicle’s safety system nor do we touch the software. All of the original hardware remains.
The Audi Pre Sense system relies on multiple sensors, including those in the seatbelt retractor, occupancy sensors, and crash detection systems. If any of these sensors detect an issue—or even need recalibration after a component change—the system may trigger a warning.
In many cases, this can happen due to a temporary system check or a need for recalibration by the vehicle’s onboard computer. We recommend performing a diagnostic scan to identify the exact cause of the warning. If it turns out that the system simply needs a reset or calibration, an Audi dealership or a technician with the right software can take care of that quickly.
If the vehicle was turned on before the seatbelts were fully installed, this could have triggered the warning message. If recalibrating the system did not resolve the issue, there are two things to check:
-
Seatbelt Connections – Audi seatbelts have additional plugs for the Pre Sense system. Please ensure these plugs are securely connected and not loose or damaged.
-
Occupancy Sensor Calibration – The Pre Sense system works in conjunction with the occupancy weight sensor. These components may need to be calibrated together for the system to function properly.
If the issue persists, we recommend having a technician perform a diagnostic scan to pinpoint the exact cause.
