# Is it possible to install an RCM/SDM airbag control module that I removed from another car (donor vehicle) that has crash data.

If the donor vehicle was not in an accident and does not have crash data, verify that the part number of the replacement module matches the part number of the module in your vehicle. Mismatched part numbers will prevent the module from functioning.

If you are installing an RCM/SDM (airbag control module) from a donor vehicle, ensure that no airbags or seat belts were deployed in the donor vehicle. If they were, the module will contain crash data, making it ineffective to install.  You can send your original RCM/SDM to MyAirbags.com for a reset. The reset process typically takes one day, plus shipping time.
