Do I need to replace any impact sensors after the accident?
Impact sensors on vehicles are designed to detect collisions and trigger various safety features, such as airbag deployment and seat belt tensioning systems, to protect the occupants during an accident. While not all impact sensors need to be replaced after every accident, it is crucial to have them thoroughly inspected by a qualified mechanic or technician.
In some cases, impact sensors might get damaged or misaligned during a collision, which can affect their accuracy and reliability. Therefore, it is essential to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and have the sensors inspected after an accident. Depending on the severity of the impact and the specific vehicle's design, the sensor may need to be recalibrated or replaced entirely.
