A mismatch code such as B1684, typically indicates that the vehicle is not recognizing the module you installed, or there is a module in the system that is not recognized by the airbag control module. Here are some potential causes:
- Incorrect Module: Was the wrong module sent by mistake?
- Memory Loss During Accident: If you sent the correct module (the one originally in the vehicle), it may have lost its memory and programming during the accident, requiring reprogramming due to a software issue.
- System Compatibility Issue: Another module in the airbag control system may not recognize the airbag control module's vehicle identification, or vice versa.
- Internal Module Issue: The module may have an internal issue, causing it to lose its programming. If it cannot be reprogrammed, you may need to purchase a new module and have it programmed.
Our Process: When we receive a module, we clear all crash codes and verify communication on the memory side. We then recheck to ensure all crash codes are erased. If your airbag control module still shows a mismatch with your vehicle, it may need to be reprogrammed specifically for your vehicle.
Please note, we do not perform module programming as it requires the actual vehicle to complete the process. If purchasing a new module is necessary to resolve the issue, you can send or email us a copy of your receipt, and we will refund the fee for the module reset.
